Yamen Hama is a Syrian-American artist currently residing in New York City. Born in Damascus, Syria to a Journalist and a Literature Teacher, storytelling has always been part of the family DNA.
Since his time at the University of Virginia School of Architecture, he has continuously pushed the boundaries on the use of computer-aided fabrication in design and wearables, while equally respecting more traditional techniques and romantic silhouettes commonly lost when traded in for more amorphously "alien" shapes typically seen in modern "experimental" fashions.
As a classically trained and still practicing Architect with an eye for fashion, the marriage of hard and soft elements, the usual with the unusual, industrialization and nature, comes instinctively and can be found universally throughout each visual story.
With a wildly diverse academic and professional background spanning fashion, visual/window design, architecture, music/piano, industrial fabrication, chemistry, graphic design and more, cross-pollination has always been the key to yielding unpredictably stunning results.
At YAMEN HAMA®, the most exciting creativity happens at unexpected intersections.
"I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it."
